Tour Overview

Erta’le, an active volcano, which takes approximately.Upon reaching the summit in the evening, visitors rest, explore volcanic eruptions, take photos, and enjoy the stunning scenery Dallol, stopping at Lake Asale to observe its salt flats and camel caravans, before exploring Dallol, one of the lowest places on Earth, renowned for its vibrant mineral formations.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Hiking

Fly from Addis Ababa to Semera; meet drivers at the airport.
Drive to Afrera; brief stop at Lake Afrera, hot springs, and salt farms.
Drive to Mount Erta’le; dinner at campsite.
Evening hike (7:00 PM) to active Erta’le volcano; observe volcanic activity, take photos.
Overnight camping.

Day 2

Expeditions

Relaxed breakfast; drive to Hammed Ella village.
Brief stop at the campsite.
Late afternoon (5:30 PM) visit Lake Asale for salt lake views and sunset.
Overnight camping at Lake Hamedella camping

Day 3

adventure

Early morning excursion to Dallol; explore one of Earth’s lowest points (116m below sea level) with colorful mineral formations.
Visit Lake Asale en route.
Coffee break at campsite; drive back to Mekelle.
Arrive Mekelle (3:30 PM) and fly back to Addis Ababa.
