Today's journey takes you to the far south. You'll drive to Omorate, near the Kenyan border, and cross the Omo River by a traditional dugout canoe to visit the Dassanech tribe . The Dassanech, whose name means "People of the Delta," are pastoralists and fishermen, and you'll learn about their resilient lifestyle in this harsh, arid environment . You'll return to Turmi for lunch. In the late afternoon, you'll immerse yourself in the culture of the Hamer people, visiting a village to observe their daily life. The Hamer are known for the women's intricate red-ochre hairstyles and the men's coming-of-age ceremony, the Bull Jumping. If a ceremony is happening nearby, your guide will make every effort to arrange a respectful visit . The evening might conclude with the chance to see a traditional Evangadi night dance .
